Last week was Pat’s final full week on the trail! It was another wet one, but there were a few bright spots thanks to more kind folks along the way. In Ohio, Pat’s brother-in-law connected him with a chef friend, George Glagola, who went out of his way to deliver an amazing meal. George’s niece, Marybeth, also met up with Pat later to drop off more food and supplies. Another highlight was passing through Mount Vernon, OH, where Pat stopped to see the “Fountain of Dogs.” He also took a moment to help repair the rail trail during one of his rides.
As of today, Pat is back in Central NY and will finish the trek to Winona Forest tomorrow (Wednesday) morning!
We’ll share a wrap-up post later this week with final stats from the ride, including how much weight Pat lost despite many cheeseburgers and milkshakes, plus the overall highs and lows, and a final tally on the fundraiser. If you haven’t pledged to donate yet, you still can!
Highlight: Staying with a past colleague and her family in Ohio
Lowlight: Being scammed by a hotel reservation app after a full day of riding in heavy rain
